Don’t Let Crowds Like THIS Ruin Your Disney World Vacation

It’s no secret that Disney World is a busy place, because, well, it’s Disney World!

So many people…

We keep a close eye on Disney World’s crowds and wait times so you know what to expect when you visit. Holiday weekends and the weeks leading up to the fall and winter holidays are notoriously busy in the parks, but sometimes Disney crowds surprise us…and not always in the best way. Today, for example, crowds are WILD in the Disney World parks!

We’ve touched down in 4 parks today and the crowds are everywhere! Let’s take a look.

Animal Kingdom

We started in Animal Kingdom, which can sometimes be one of the least busy parks — not today! Crowds were already heavy walking into the park.

Entrance Crowds

They didn’t alleviate once you got inside either. Many people stayed put to figure out where they wanted to go.

If you headed over to Pandora, the lines for both rides were quite long, but since those are two of the most popular rides in the park, that’s not entirely surprising.

Walkways were especially shoulder-to-shoulder.

Expedition Everest was at a 50-minute wait with a line well outside of the indoor queue.

Quick-service spots like Tamu Tamu Refreshments had some decently long lines as well.

Even DinoLand had pretty intense crowds (especially considering this area of the park can be a ghost town).

Let’s check out Magic Kingdom!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom crowds certainly weren’t any better. Cinderella Castle was seeing a lot of foot traffic.

Look at all those people!

Even less popular spots like The Magic Carpets of Aladdin were seeing lots of people.

We also saw a pretty long line over at Storybook Treats!

How were the crowds in Hollywood Studios?

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios seemed to be the calmest park we saw this afternoon. Sunset Boulevard wasn’t too crowded, fortunately.

Some of the stores were a little more crowded than usual, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

One of the most populated parts of Hollywood Studios was Galaxy’s Edge.

Lots of people!

And finally, let’s head to EPCOT!

EPCOT

Perhaps the worst park for crowds today was EPCOT. Just look at this shoulder-to-shoulder foot traffic in World Showcase!

World Showcase was the most crowded part of the park that we saw. Many of the pavilions, like Germany, were filled with parkgoers!

The Norway Pavilion was seeing a 110-minute wait for Frozen Ever After!

As for the rest of the park, it was a pretty normal crowd day. Soarin’ was seeing a 60-minute wait while Living With The Land had its normal 10-minute wait.

And the front of the park was semi-quiet, all things considered.

The lack of crowds was a little deceiving

If you find yourself in Disney World with huge crowds, we’ve got plenty of tips to help you avoid the crowds and make the most of your day. If you’ve got some extra room in your budget, you can also use Disney Genie+ to skip the lines and give yourself the time to experience more of the park instead of waiting in line. Remember — Genie+ did just get a price increase and now uses flexible pricing that varies depending on when you visit.

Designated Area

According to Disney, these large crowds will continue for a while since the demand to visit the parks is still so high. We’ve got a guide to avoiding the crowds in Disney Springs (even though there are no rides, we assure you things can feel a little too close sometimes), and a great list of how to fix 39 things you may hate about Disney. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news!

According to our readers, these are the WORST months to visit Disney World!
