11 Disney World Closures to Watch Out For

If you’re going to Disney World next week, you’ve probably already done a LOT of planning. You’ve made those Park Pass Reservations, booked a table at your favorite restaurant, and figured out which rides you’re going to first. Great job!

Ready to go to Disney World?

Just one more thing before you grab your suitcase and head out the door — make sure you’re aware of what’s going to be CLOSED during your next trip. From rides to shows, restaurants to water parks, there are a few attractions that are going to be temporarily unavailable. To prevent any unpleasant surprises, check out our full list here of what’s not available in the parks and hotels next week.

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in Magic Kingdom. Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date for this attraction, but we did recently hear the train testing, so that could be a good sign that it will reopen soon!

Still no train!

It’s possible that the Railroad will remain closed until construction wraps up on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland. That coaster is slated to open in spring 2023, so we’re hoping that the Railroad returns by then, if not sooner.

Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.

Over by Space Mountain, the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop is currently closed. This is another area that’s been affected by the TRON construction, but it looks like Disney is taking the opportunity to refurbish the store while it’s blocked off by construction.

Completely Gutted

Disney hasn’t announced when this store will reopen, but — like the Railroad — it might remain closed until TRON is ready to open.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Enchanted Tales with Belle is a character meet-and-greet experience where you could previously help Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast.

Right now, this attraction is closed, and Disney hasn’t said when it might reopen.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Belle isn’t the only character who is unavailable for a meet and greet right now. At Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald used to greet guests while dressed in their circus performer outfits.

This attraction is currently closed, and the only clue we have to its reopening is that Disney said it will return “in the coming months.” In the meantime, you can visit Minnie at the Town Square Theater with Mickey!

Meet Ariel at Her Grotto

Ariel’s meet-and-greet in Magic Kingdom is also closed. Although Ariel’s Grotto is not open for guests to visit, you can still visit the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, which is located nearby.

Ariel’s Grotto

Disney hasn’t said when Ariel will return to her meet and greet.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Feathered Friends in Flight

Animal Kingdom is home to several great shows, like Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…And Beyond! Another one of the popular shows in this park — Feathered Friends in Flight — is going to be closed for all of this next week.

Feathered Friends in Flight

The show, in which Animal Kingdom trainers teach guests about the birds that live in the park, will be closed through September 24th. It should reopen on the 25th.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Like Magic Kingdom, Ariel is also missing from Holywood Studios! The Little Mermaid-themed stage show is still closed right now.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Disney hasn’t announced when or if The Voyage of the Little Mermaid will return.

Fantasmic!

We’re getting SO excited for the return of Fantasmic!, but Disney still hasn’t announced a specific reopening date.

We know that the show will return sometime this year, which means it must be back in the next few months. Disney has announced that Cast Member rehearsals have already started, so we know we’re close!

EPCOT

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 is not currently playing in EPCOT’s World Showcase. Instead, the theater is being used as the home of the Appleseed Orchard Food & Wine Festival booth.

2022 Appleseed Orchard Festival Booth

The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival ends on November 19th, so we’re expecting the Canada Far & Wide film to return after that date.

American Adventure Pavilion

The American Adventure show in EPCOT’s World Showcase is not showing times beginning on September 19th.

American Adventure

Disney hasn’t announced an official closure for this pavilion, so it’s possible that the missing times are a glitch on the website. Check the My Disney Experience app during your visit to see if the show is running while you’re there.

Disney World Hotels

Kona Café — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the table service restaurant Kona Café is temporarily closed. This spot will reopen sometime in fall 2022 with “an enhanced table-service experience.”

Kona Cafe is closed

Don’t worry, though — you can still grab food from Kona Café by using the My Disney Experience app to Mobile Order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Kona Café To-Go. You’ll pick up your food right next to Kona Island.

Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Narcoossee’s (a seafood restaurant at the Grand Floridian) is currently closed as well. This restaurant closed back in July and isn’t expected to reopen until sometime next year.

Disney has said that Narcoossee’s will reopen in 2023 with “an enhanced table-service experience.”

Disney World Water Parks

Blizzard Beach
