Can You Spot the CHANGES to Carousel of Progress in Disney World?!

Disney World rides are changing all the time — sometimes it’s a major overhaul (like The Great Movie Ride becoming Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway), and sometimes it’s just small updates and general refurbishments.

Recently, we spotted some updates at a Magic Kingdom attraction, but you’ll have to be a Disney EXPERT to notice what’s different! Come along with us to ride the Carousel of Progress and see what’s new here.

Earlier this year, the Carousel of Progress saw some BIG changes to the finale scene. New costumes and props were added to make it look more modern, and the changes were very noticeable if you ride this attraction often.

This time, however, the changes are a bit more subtle. Let’s take a look at the scene where John is sitting in the kitchen with Rover.

John

In this scene, John’s jacket looks like it’s been spruced up a bit, with the pattern on the lapels being more crisp. There are some new props around him as well, such as a pot of roses on the table. Here’s a look at the old scene — see if you can spot the changes!

Also, there were some decorations added above the kitchen window — a string of red and pink hearts. Many of the scenes are decorated with holiday decor to show what time of year it is, so this scene must take place around Valentine’s Day.

In another kitchen scene with John and Rover, the holiday decorations again got some updates. A couple of new decorations were added or moved, including a jack-o-lantern behind the booth and a black cat on the wall.

Also, the decorations above the fridge were moved around, and a cornucopia was added to the mix. More paper decor was added over the kitchen window — this time they were orange and black bats.

Finally, a couple of very subtle changes came to the scene where Uncle Orville is reading the paper in the bathtub. A few of the props on the counter behind him have been updated, and the towels hanging on the rack are different as well.

These changes are more proof that Disney is constantly changing — Cast Members are busy night and day updating attractions and working on new ones as well. Not too far from Carousel of Progress, you’ll find the construction site for the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster. We’ve spotted lots of testing going on for this ride, so we’re hoping to hear an opening date soon!

Testing AGAIN!
