Ryan Reynolds Called Disney OUT on Twitter…and He May Have a Point

Disney+ is constantly getting new content!

We’ve seen countless new Disney and Pixar films, not to mention a BUNCH of Star Wars and Marvel series that were incredibly popular. This week, some more adult content arrived on the family-friendly platform with three R-Rated movies. Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan are now available to stream, but one of the film’s stars had a very unexpected way of announcing their arrival.

In honor of the occasion, Ryan Reynolds (who plays Deadpool) posted to Twitter, sharing that he was “supposed” to announce that the first R-Rated movies were coming to Disney+. However, Reynolds had some thoughts about classic Disney movies to share…he thinks that some of them should’ve ALREADY been R-Rated for “irreversible trauma.”

Reynolds specifically calls out movies like The Lion KingOld Yeller, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Bambi for being too adult, thanks to content including mauling and “cold-blooded killing of an innocent deer mom.” And we’ll be honest — he might have quite a bit of support on these.

Can you guess what Disney movies he’s referring to in these posts?

A problem for dog lovers…this reference is an obvious one and just thinking about this movie hurts. 😢

It’s a wonder we turned out to be such well-adjusted adults after watching Scar murder Mufasa over and over, tbh. Thankfully, now we’re old enough to look back on it and all laugh together in our shared Disney-induced trauma. Our favorite part of this tweet? When Ryan Reynolds says that Bambi should NOT be approved for all audiences because, and I quote, “therapy is not cheap.” That’s #relatable right there.

And even after all that, we turned out to be huge Disney fans. 😆  We don’t know what that says about us, but we’ll happily still watch (some of) these films over and over…just with a box of tissues by our side!
