REVIEW: We’re BACK at Gideon’s Bakehouse Trying Limited-Time Treats in Disney World!

We’re back at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. Why? To try the July flavors, of course!

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Every month, Gideon’s features a different flavor, and the July cookie is also part of the Disney Springs Flavors of Florida celebration from July 5th to the 14th! And what is Florida known for? Oranges, of course!

If you’ve ever visited Gideon’s Bakehouse, you’ve probably noticed all the portraits starring eerie characters. What you might not know is that they each have a backstory! The character Stuart Valencia is ready to celebrate Flavors of Florida with orange! According to Gideon’s lore, Stuart is a “pale, sickly boy” who ate so many oranges that he became “part orange tree and part forever boy.”

New menu!

For July and Flavors of Florida, Gideon’s brought back the Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie and added the new Orange Mocha Nitro Cold Brew, and you can get both through August 15th. They also brought back the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Stuart Cake, and for one day only you can also get a Ginger Snap Cold Brew for National Gingerbread Day!

July flavors

We visited today to check out this year’s version of the Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie, which is a vanilla bean chocolate chip cookie infused with orange and topped with dark chocolates, South Florida pecan pralines, and a candied orange peel.

We also took the opportunity to try the new Orange Mocha Nitro Cold Brew and the very limited Ginger Snap Cold Brew.

New July flavors!

Last year, we LOVED this cookie, so we had high hopes. We’re happy to say that it did NOT disappoint! It was super soft, fresh, and totally melt-in-your-mouth tasty. The orange candies were nice and chewy and the pecans gave a good crunch and some saltiness. The orange flavor is really strong (in a good way)!

Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie

We already love Gideon’s Chocolate Chip Cookies but this has to be one of our favorite enhancements of their signature cookie! The base of their signature cookie with the orange flavor was just perfection, and it wasn’t overly sweet, either.

YUM

Of course, it is July in Florida, which means our cookie got melty. FAST. So make sure you grab some napkins and expect to make a bit of a mess! (Trust us, it’s worth it.) You can get it for $6!

Very melty

Next up is the new Orange Mocha Nitro Cold Brew, which is now one of our favorite coffee drinks we’ve ever had. It’s basically the coffee version of the cookie and it was AMAZING. You first taste orange — then mocha, and the orange flavor really shined with the hint of mocha. It left a delicious lingering taste and it wasn’t overly strong in a coffee sense. We loved it. Try it for $6!

And the Ginger Snap Cold Brew is only available for one day, and it was less intense than we expected. You can definitely taste the gingersnap but your initial first taste is cinnamon and coffee. You don’t really get the gingersnap flavor until after you swallow a sip. The mix of cinnamon and gingersnap was really good though and overall it had a stronger coffee flavor than the Orange Mocha Nitro Cold Brew. It costs $6.

Due to popular demand, Gideon’s also brought back the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie, which is a vanilla bean cookie blended with bananas, chocolates, candied walnuts, and finely crushed banana chips. According to Gideon’s, the Banana Bread cookie is their best-selling limited cookie ever released!

If you’re more of a cake person, you can get the Stuart Cake on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s a dark orange chocolate buttercream covered in chocolate chips, candied pecans, and candied orange.
