What’s New in EPCOT: Merchandise from the WRONG Disney Park and a Gift Shop Reopening

There’s a LOT happening in EPCOT these days.

EPCOT

We’ve got massive construction projects in the middle of the park, a brand-new restaurant, and the grand opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind scheduled for later this month. There’s so much happening, and if you’re not visiting the park daily, it’s easy to miss some news. But thankfully, we’re in EPCOT almost every day…and today we’re catching you up on what’s new in the park!

EPCOT Construction Updates

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

We’re just a few weeks away from the grand opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and we couldn’t be more pumped! Ahead of ride openings, Disney usually hosts media events, and this week it looks like they’re prepping for some of these events with the addition of a stage in front of the ride building.

There’s a new stage out front.

We’ll continue to watch this area and see if any more equipment gets set up in the coming days. Currently, regular guests can’t get close to the building (it’s blocked off), but we only have to wait until May 27th for it to be open to all!

Moana — Journey of Water

The other big construction project that we’re watching in EPCOT is located smack dab in the center of the park! Moana — Journey of Water has been very slowly taking shape, and just recently we’ve started to see some rock structures emerge.

Look at all that progress!

We’ve been watching a big pit of dirt and stationary construction equipment for a while, so it’s nice to spot progress! We’ll continue watching here to see if we can start to make out elements of the attraction.

Miscellaneous Construction

Besides the two big projects, there have been a few miscellaneous touch-ups happening around the park. The tower in the Italy Pavilion is in the process of being repainted, and we see some progress on it each day. (They seem to be working on it outside of park hours.)

It’s getting a little refresh.

Over at Liquid Layers (the interactive fountains by the Imagination Pavilion), we spotted a sign for wet caulk. Be on the lookout for these in the next few days if your kiddos are splashing around over there!

Don’t touch the caulk!

And finally, the bench in front of The Land Pavilion was painted this week. We watched the progress over hte course of a few days, but it seemed to be finished on Monday and just waiting to dry.

Painting wrapped up this weekend.

If the stanchions are still up when you’re there, make sure to avoid sitting down — otherwise, you might have to buy some new pants!

EPCOT Attraction Updates

Braille Map

If you’re in need of a braille map in EPCOT, then good news — there’s a new one near the front of the park now! On the construction wall just past Spaceship Earth, covering the space where the Guest Relations building was, there’s a large braille map that appeared this week.

New Braille Map in EPCOT

We’ve spotted another braille map in World Showcase, but it’s nice to have this one accessible for guests in the front of the park as well.

EPCOT Merchandise Updates

Port of Entry

Even though the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival kicked off a few months ago, we’re still spotting new merchandise for the fest in the park! This week, we got two new watering cans, the first of which we spotted at Port of Entry for $19.99

Do we need this? Yes we do.

This adorable Orange Bird design is sure to brighten up your garden and have you dreaming of Disney days!

Italy Pavilion

In the Italy Pavilion, we’ve been fawning over the Limoncello collection for a while now, but this week two new bags joined the lineup. First up, there’s this cute small purse made with burlap and finished off with a lemon slice Mickey!

It’s so small!

Need something a little more substantial? You could buy the matching tote instead. It’s not a massive bag, but it has a little bit more space than the other one.

They also have a small tote.

You can grab either of these bags now for $39.99.

American Adventure Pavilion

Head next door to America for some MORE new merchandise, including this new Mickey Mouse Polynesian Print at the Art of Disney store. Right now, it’s available for $39.99.

Isn’t he cute?!

And just outside at the merchandise cart, we spotted the new Dapper Day 10th Anniversary pin for $10. Dapper Day is a popular holiday for Disney fans who like to dress up, and what better way is there to commemorate the occasion if you celebrated this year?

Add this one to your collection!

We saw some pretty great Dapper Day looks a few days ago at EPCOT — we can’t wait for the next event!

Plume et Palette

In the France Pavilion at Plume et Palette, we spotted several items from the Disneyland Paris 30th Anniversary collection. First, there are these sparkly new Minnie ears for $29.99.

Fabulous new ears!

Love that look but Minnie ears aren’t your thing? Maybe try out the matching Disneyland Paris Baseball Cap instead. It’s a little bit more expensive at $39.99, but it’s great for those hot days in the parks to keep the sun out of your eyes.

Why not buy the hat AND the ears?

And if you really want to complete the look, there are two new Dooney & Bourke bags here as well. There’s a tote for $298

…and a smaller crossbody bag for $228. They’re an expensive souvenir, but they’re usually pretty popular with die-hard fans!

Dooney & Bourke Crossbody

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland Paris during its anniversary celebrations, this is a great place to pick up the necessities before you travel!

Souk al Magreb

And finally, a small merchandise spot in the World Showcase has reopened! Souk al Magreb was open during the day for guests to do a little light shopping in the Morocco Pavilion.

Souk al Magreb

Shopping has been pretty scarce in this pavilion since the reopening of EPCOT, so we’re glad to have this spot back again.

Camera Center

For our last few items, let’s head back toward the front of the park. At the Camera Center underneath Spaceship Earth, there’s a new Mickey lanyard and pin starter set for those looking to get into pin trading.

You can get your pin collection started off right!

You can snag this basic starting kit for $34.99.

Creations Shop

And finally, as usual, a bunch of new merchandise arrived in Creations Shop in the past few days. In anticipation of the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we got a new weighted Groot Plush. Isn’t he adorable?! You can pick him up for $29.99.

There’s a new Groot plush!

And remember that second watering can we mentioned? This How to Garden design popped up in EPCOT’s main gift shop a few days ago for $19.99.

It matches the other gardening merchandise.

Speaking of Flower & Garden merchandise — check out this new Figment magnet for $14.99. Can you ever REALLY have too many Figment souvenirs?

Two new shirts arrived here as well, including a Grogu tank top for $36.99

Disney can’t stop, won’t stop with the Baby Yoda merch.

…and a 50th Anniversary tee for $39.99. Disney just keeps going with that 50th Anniversary merch!

ANOTHER 50th shirt!

And last but certainly not least, we’ve got the Butterfly Minnie ears that kind of remind us of an elementary school art project. You can snag these…unique ears for $29.99.

Wow, they’re…something!

That’s a LOT of new merchandise in a matter of just a few days. Stay tuned to see if any of these items pop up online!
