Vegetarian-Friendly Quick Service Options at Epcot

Epcot has a variety of food options and locations. Food is one of the many reasons people visit this Epcot on top of coming to ride Frozen Ever After, of course. In my opinion, Epcot has the best food mainly due to the variety. I have never had any issues getting vegetarian options while eating at Epcot. The festivals are limited in what they offer for vegetarians and vegans, but other locations serve vegetarian/vegan options. Let’s look at what some of the quick service locations offer.

EPCOT

Future World recently got a brand new quick service, Connections Eatery. Connections Eatery is where Electric Umbrella used to live. They have two plant-based items on the menu: the Curry Spice Pizza and Nicoise-style Salad. The Curry Pizza ingredients are tikka masala, carrots, potatoes, peas, tomatoes, plant-based mozzarella, and lime “yogurt” served with a Mediterranean side salad. The Nicoise-style Salad has crispy mixed greens, wedged potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, olives, white beans, and dijon vinaigrette. Sunshine Seasons over at The Land Pavilion is between Living with the Land and Soarin Around the World. Sunshine Seasons has always been great with having vegetarian and plant-based options. They have four vegetarian options on the menu as of writing this article. They have the Vegetable Korma served with plant-based chicken and cashews. The other options are the Cheese Flatbread served with a Pasta Salad, a Jackfruit Gyro, and an Asian Vegetable Noodle Salad. The Jackfruit Gyro is my go-to when eating at Sunshine Seasons.

World Showcase has a lot of food options, whether a festival booth, quick service location, or table service dining. La Cantina de San Angel outside the Mexico Pavilion has two options that don’t need modifications. They have the Empanadas con Queso which are fried flour tortillas filled with cheese, and they top them with sour cream, salsa verde, and queso fresco. The other option they have is Guacamole with Totopos, which is guacamole with tortilla chips that pair great with a margarita. La Cantina also has nachos, but you would have to ask for them without the ground beef. The next vegetarian-friendly stop is at the Regal Eagle Smokehouse, located in the American Adventure Pavilion. Here they offer two meals that are vegetarian friendly. The Power Greens Salad has mixed greens, fresh citrus fruit, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and radishes with a citrus vinaigrette dressing. The other option is the BBQ Jackfruit Burger. This plant-based burger comes on garlic toast topped with BBQ jackfruit, plant-based mayonnaise, and lettuce with a side of your choice. The sides offered that are vegetarian are the beer-battered onion rings, creamy coleslaw, seasoned french fries, and macaroni and cheese.

Katsura Grill in Japan is an excellent spot with a peaceful outdoor seating area. This location is pescatarian friendly since they serve many seafood options like sushi. The vegetarian options include a Vegetable Roll and Yasai (vegetable) Udon. Katsura Grill has some sides that are also vegetarian friendly, like Edamame, Salad with ginger dressing, and Miso Soup. I enjoy this location a lot not only for the food but because it feels so secluded and away from the crowds. Also, before entering the American Pavilion, there is a walk-up location called Kabuki Cafe at this pavilion. They sell shaved ice here, but they also have sushi for our pescatarian friends and chilled edamame for vegetarians/vegans. I have an important question. Do you like crepes? There is a walk-up window near Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, where you can order crepes called Crepes A Emporter by La Creperie de Paris. They have two vegetarian-friendly galettes, the Cream of Brie Cheese Galette and the Ratatouille Galette. If you love stir-fry, check out Lotus Blossom Cafe. The vegetarian option here is the Vegetable Stir-Fried served with spicy noodles, and if you want more options, go next door to Nine Dragons.

China Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, and France Pavilion

I am sure that many of these locations are also willing to make modifications to different dishes to remove meat unless it is a pre-made dish. Disney has gotten so much better with making modifications to ensure that a meal is vegetarian. I hope this was helpful in some way. My biggest advice is to ask if they have vegetarian options or if something can be made vegetarian.
