REVIEW: STRAWBERRY Continues to Reign as a Disney World Food TREND

We’re almost there, people! Summer is RIGHT around the corner.

Strawberry Cookie

Whether you’ve already planned your Disney World trip or are just getting started, in the parks, summer fun has been in the works for quite a while. We’ve already seen a list of summer treats we can expect to find, and today we spotted some returning treats in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that just scream summer!

We love stopping by Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Animal Kingdom to check out all the delicious pastries and desserts they offer. Last year, Disney World rolled out a slew of fruit treats. And now, the Strawberry treats have made their return!

Zuri’s is serving up two fruity snacks  — starting with the Strawberry Mickey Cookie. But you should be able to find these available in more locations as well.

Strawberry Mickey Cookie

This is a Mickey-shaped sugar cookie covered in strawberry icing and it was $5.49. We enjoyed this cookie — the icing had a nice light strawberry flavor that didn’t taste artificial or too sweet.

A decent enough cookie.

The cookie was just your run-of-the-mill sugar cookie, and it may have just been ours but it was a little dry. If you’re looking for that soft, gooey sugar cookie — this is NOT going to fit that bill, as it’s more of a cake-like consistency.

We also tried the returning Mickey Strawberry Rice Cereal Treat for $5.49. This is a crispy rice treat with strawberry marshmallows and a strawberry crumb dusting on the outside.

Strawberry Mickey Rice Cereal Treat

This sort of reminded us of those strawberry shortcake ice cream bars you could get at school or from the ice cream truck! It was nice and fresh (unlike most rice cereal treats at Disney) and the coating on the outside lent a nice texture and added strawberry flavor.

We really liked this one!

The Strawberry Rice Cereal Treat wasn’t as large as the strawberry cookie, so it’s not quite as shareable but could still do the trick. It would be great for kids or fans of strawberries, but if you don’t love fruity desserts we’d steer clear.

If you’re looking for a solo snack, there are much better options around the same price. Some personal DFB favorites are the Pineapple Lumpia at Pongu Pongu, Lunch Box Tarts from Woody’s Lunch Box, and even a Mini Mango Pie at Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe!
