Disneyland is home to some of Disney’s most iconic and classic snacks.

Sure, there’s always Dole Whip, but Disneyland has historically also been the king of churros and corn dogs. But, hidden away inside Jolly Holiday Bakery is another one of our favorite Disney snacks — the Toasted Cheese Sandwich. And, recently, this iconic dish got a bit of an upgrade so we had to stop by to give it a try!

If you’re not familiar, served with a side of tomato soup, the classic toasted cheese sandwich is a good serving of cheese smacked between two pieces of bread that are then toasted so the cheese gets nice and gooey. Simple as that! And, though there’s nothing fancy going on here, it’s become a favorite for many guests visiting the park.

While you can still get the classic sandwich, there’s a new seasonal twist that really beefs this puppy up (literally!). Let us introduce you to the Beef Birria Toasted Cheese Sandwich! It loaded with beef along with Pepperjack Cheese, Onion, Cilantro, and Salsa Verde all served between two slices of Sourdough Bread and a side of consomme.

We’re going to get straight to the point here — you need to RUN to Jolly Holiday for this sandwich NOW! It easily ranks among one of the best that we’ve had in the parks thanks to the tender and flavorful meat that’s packed in there. Plus, the onions and cilantro don’t overpower the dish — they add just a bit of additional flavor. And, that salsa verde…YUM!

Dip it all in the consomme and you’ve got one tasty lunch or dinner (or BOTH!).
