REVIEW: Disney World’s New Limited-Time Cocktail is DANGEROUS

We’re getting into the summer months now, which means Disney World is HOT. Heavy crowds, high humidity, and scorching sunlight can make a day in the parks a little bit of a nightmare if you’re not prepared. If you’re looking for a refreshing break from the heat and a chance to cool off, we might have just found the PERFECT drink for you. But you’ll need to watch out, because it’s actually a little bit DANGEROUS.

This park is SO pretty!

Let’s head into Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where you can find a NEW cocktail that’s celebrating a very special holiday!

One of our favorite underrated spots in Animal Kingdom is Dawa Bar, which is located in the Africa section of this park. It’s home to some delicious cocktails, like the Ngumu Jungle Juice!  But today, we’re checking out a brand new cocktail that has arrived to celebrate Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Dawa Bar

The Mango Punch is made with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Stoli Vanil Vodka, Mango Purée, and Rice Milk. On the placards at Dawa Bar, you can read about the origins of mango harvesting, an industry with roots in India that has spread to locations like Africa, Australia, Hawaii, Central America, and the Philippines.

Mango Punch

Of course, we had to try out this new drink. Our verdict? It’s VERY refreshing! The mango flavor isn’t super strong (it just tasted generally fruity), so the drink wasn’t overpoweringly sweet. However, we could still taste the mango a bit, and the purée added some nice creaminess to the drink.

Mango Punch

The booze didn’t stand out much, as the main flavor was fruit juice. It sort of reminded us of a piña colada, because it has tropical vibes and a nice creaminess! But this is where the dangerous part comes in: You’ll need to keep in mind that there is still quite a bit of alcohol in this drink — the creamy texture and fruity flavor means it goes down very smooth, so that’s easy to forget.

So pretty

It’s garnished with a flower, so the decoration and the bright color of the drink make this a great drink for pics. If you don’t like mango, this might not be the drink for you. Although the mango flavor isn’t really in your face, you can still tell it’s there. And if you’re looking for a more alcohol-forward drink, you’d probably be better off with a beer or margarita from this bar. But if you like fruity drinks and are looking for a great way to cool down during a hot day, we think this drink will 100% fit the bill!

Great way to cool off!

You can get one now for $14 at Dawa Bar. Mango Punch likely won’t be around after May (because May is Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month), so hurry in to grab yours soon if you want to try it!
