It’s time to celebrate Star Wars Day in the Disney parks! There’s a ton of new food and fun experiences like new PhotoPass opportunities coming to Disney World in celebration of this galactic holiday, and we’ve been having a great time checking everything out (but of course, we’ve had the most fun trying the food!).

So, grab your lightsaber and let’s head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try one of the extremely limited time offerings for this holiday!

Today, we’re trying the Galactic Swirl Funnel Cake in Hollywood Studios. This funnel cake has it all — it’s a black and white funnel cake with space dust, strawberries, and candy rocks! You can grab it over at Epic Eats.

We’ve actually tried this treat before, as it’s a returning offering and was available last year. We really enjoyed it then, so we were looking forward to having it again (as long as it lives up to what we remember)!

We got a little bit of everything on our fork and took a bite, and we were immediately smacked in the face with how sweet this thing is! It is a lotttt of sugar, which makes sense, because we found out last year that space dust is actually made with a coarser sugar so it can hold up longer and not melt right away.

The funnel cake itself is tasty, but it was just a touch doughy. The black cake is unique and definitely makes this more on theme than a normal funnel cake. It reminded us a little of Mustafar!

Last year, we learned that the black cake isn’t chocolate, it’s actually just regular funnel cake batter that’s been colored black.

Just a little bit of those strawberries on top goes a long way, so we would suggest to spread them out over the funnel cake so they can be in every bite!

The candy rocks are made of chocolate and were a little too much in this treat, in our opinion. We think we would’ve liked it better if they were smaller and more spread out.

This dessert has a TON going on — you get a lot of toppings and cake, that’s for sure! But, this might result in a stomach ache if you don’t share it with enough people. Or, you (or your kids) could have a major sugar crash later on. But, it IS delicious, so it might be worth the risk! That’s something you’ll have to judge for yourself.
