Jurassic World: Dominion Takes Over the Universal Studios Store, Guido’s Gelato Closed for Refurbishment, Lunch at Cowfish, and More: Universal Orlando Resort Photo Report 4/26/22

Welcome to another incredible day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. The sun is shining, and it is hot today, so grab your water and your sunscreen and let’s get going.

Mardi Gras is over, and the park maps have switched back to the VelociCoaster cover. Maps? Where we’re going, we don’t need maps!

Most guests will run directly to Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, but if you’re looking for some really great photos in the Wizarding World, Early Park Admission is the best time.

If you skipped breakfast to make it in time for Early Park Admission, the Magic Neep has some quick grab-and-go options to keep you fueled without slowing you down. Grab a warm croissant or a fruit cup for snacking in line for the next ride.

We like to go right for the castle in the morning. Get those epic photos before the crowds arrive for the day.

If you need to cool down, the splash zone in Jurassic Park is perfect. On nice days, you’ll even be able to see rainbows in the mist. This is another great opportunity for photos.

Another perfect day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. Let’s check out what’s new at Universal Studios Florida next.

Jurassic World: Dominion has taken over the Universal Studios Store in Universal Studios Florida. There are banners, images in the windows, and displays inside.

If this is going to end up in the Prop Shop, I’m calling dibs now! The Jurassic World: Dominion display looks great. Take a look at all the new merchandise in our post here.

Only a 35 minute wait for Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem in the middle of the afternoon is amazing.

Trees have been added again in Production Central now that Mardi Gras is over. They look nice in the area and provide a little bit of shade.

Goodbye to the Mardi Gras Tribute Store. The facade has come down quickly, but we’re looking forward to whatever is next!

If you’re lucky enough to get a selfie with one of these guys, it’s going to be memorable.

Guido’s Gelato is undergoing refurbishment, so construction walls have gone up around the walk up window and the main entrance to Louie’s Italian Restaurant. Louie’s is still open, but you’ll need to go around to the entrance on the opposite side, near Fast and Furious: Supercharged.

Some temporary themed walls have gone up inside the restaurant as work takes place on the other side.

Discounted UOAP merchandise for Mardi Gras is still available inside the Lounge, so grab it while you can.

Fievel’s Playland is still closed off for refurbishment. Some of the maintenance was not planned, so there is no estimated time for the area to reopen yet.

Due to the blazing sun and high temperatures today, it looks pretty empty around the park. That’s just because everyone is hiding in the shade.

You can see how everyone is standing off to the side in the shade from the buildings. It’s crowded in the shade.

And it’s packed inside Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour. It’s a great way to cool down, but be prepared to wait.

It’s gorgeous today. We really can’t get over how pretty everything looks.

Thanks for following along with us around the parks today. It’s been a busy day, so we’re going to enjoy a nice lunch at Cowfish and get out of here. We’ll be back again soon, so stay tuned for more updates!
