There’s constantly something to celebrate in Disney World, and luckily for us, these celebrations oftentimes come with special food items! Last week, we were celebrating Halfway to Halloween, tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Star Wars Day, and since October 1st, 2021, for 18 months we’ll be celebrating Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!
If you didn’t know, May is Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, and Disney World will be celebrating with some special food offerings throughout the month with the theme “A World of Voices.”
Over at EPCOT, World Showcase is filled with all sorts of special food offerings! At Nine Dragons Restaurant in the China pavilion, you’ll find a special Dim Sum Platter with vegetable spring rolls, cheesy wontons and house-made General Tso’s chicken shumai, along with some other menu items.
Over in the Canada pavilion, you’ll find food and drink inspired by the movie Turning Red including Pand-ade and a Turning Red cake.
Over at Animal Kingdom, you can find things like this Kakigori, which is a Japanese shaved ice treat with condensed milk and flavored syrups! It can be found at Caravan Road.
You’ll also find a Tuna Poke Bowl over at the Nomad Lounge if you’re hungry for more than dessert.
Morimoto Asia serves up some delicious eats year-round, but in celebration of AANHPI, there will be a special burger on the menu in May: the Morimoto Asia Loco, which is a house blend burger with A-5 Wagyu and Filet Mignon, served over a sizzling rice bowl, topped with a sunny side up cage-free egg and teriyaki mushroom gravy.
Over at Amorette’s Patisserie, you can try the Phillippines Maganda Ube, which is a traditional Filipino dessert with ube chiffon layered cake with caramel banana mousse, and banana liquor glacage.
BB Wolf’s Sausage Co. is getting in on the celebration with a Korean Bulgogi Steak Hotdog which is a spicy Korean beef and pork hot dog, bulgogi steak and pickled vegetables. The Ganachery will feature things like a Sri-Lankan Cinnamon Square and a Matcha-Yuzu Square.
Vivoli il Gelato has an Ube Tiramisu Pop which is a sweet cream of ube with graham cracker crumbs soaked with coconut.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Select Disney World hotels will be offering a Sesame Chicken Stir-Fry with chicken, broccoli, red pepper and onion topped with jasmine rice.
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, there are some Moana-inspired treats like like a vanilla smoothie with watermelon, mango guava and ginger at ‘Ohana and a vanilla cupcake topped with coconut mousse filling, buttercream, and coconut flakes at Capt. Cook’s.
We’re always on the lookout for more food in the Disney theme parks, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news!
