Why You Might Have to Do Some EXTRA Walking to Magic Kingdom Right Now!

Unless you own magic shoes or happen to be a master of pain, you’re probably familiar with the feeling of sore feet after a long day of walking in Disney World. If you’ve ever had to park in one of Disney’s MASSIVE parking lots, you know that finding your way back to your car can add an extra hundred steps to your already impressive step count. It’s exhausting! Luckily, Disney offers a tram service that takes guests to and from the front of the Ticket and Transportation Center. (Disney used to have trams running in all four parks, but currently, only the Magic Kingdom tram is operational.)

Beep Beep!!

Now, some construction is impacting the Magic Kingdom trams, so your ride to the Ticket and Transportation Center might look a little different (for now!).

During our visit to the Magic Kingdom on Saturday, April 2nd, we saw signs stating “Trams are not operating today.” Interestingly, we noticed that the trams were instead running in a modified way. The trams were still running throughout the Magic Kingdom parking lots, but they did not drop guests off in the normal location in front of security.

The trams were not operating like normal!

Currently, guests may have to do a little extra walking to and from their car due to this change. According to a Cast Member, the construction that is blocking the normal tram route should be complete by next week (hopefully sometime around April 10th). Once the construction walls are gone, the trams should be up and running as normal!

Guests were dropped off at a different location

We’ll be sure to keep our eyes out for updates on the Magic Kingdom tram situation, so be sure to stay tuned!
