REVIEW: We Promise This Green Blob Treat Tastes Better Than It Looks in Disney World

We’re seeing a lot of bunnies, flowers, and eggs. That can only mean one thing: Easter has arrived in Disney World! It’s time to pull out your fanciest bonnet (do people still own bonnets?) and assemble your baskets, people. All jellybeans and Peeps must report to the home in preparation for the holiday.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

For Disney World guests, one of the best ways to prepare for Easter is to try all the new TREATS! We taste all of the seasonal snacks that pop up around the Disney Parks, and Disney has been churning out TONS of yummy treats for Easter. We’ve tried everything from a Carrot Cake Cupcake to fancy mousse so far, and we’ve still got room for more! Today, we went over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to see what Easter treats they had to offer.

Over at The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we tried the new Raspberry Fields treat! Clearly, the name doesn’t reveal much, but it’s a pistachio financier with raspberry gelée, lemon curd, and a white chocolate glaçage! It was available for $5.99.

Raspberry Fields

Alright, so how did it taste? Honestly, this was one of the BEST treats we’ve had lately! The lemon curd was predictably tart, but it worked so well with the pistachio financier. In terms of consistency, think of this treat like a key lime pie, but with lemon instead of lime. We adored the nutty pistachio flavor — it worked well on its own and with the lemon curd! Inside, the raspberry filling had a distinct, sweet flavor that countered the sour lemon and sweetened up the pistachio flavors.

This is such a fun little treat!

There’s a small piece of white chocolate on top, too, which didn’t add much to the flavor, but made our dessert look a little fancier! Even though all those fancy-sounding words and interesting flavor combinations might scare you, we think this is such a sweet, tart dish that even kids will enjoy it! Don’t let that wacky lime-green color scare you away; this treat is better than it looks. That said, if you don’t like fruity desserts, you might be better off with something else!

Look at that beautiful cross-section

Make sure you head over to The Mara if you want to give this treat a try! We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
