5 Things That Will Be Different in Disney World This April

It can be pretty hard to keep up with all of the changes happening in Disney World.

EPCOT

But that’s why we’re here! To make sure that you never miss an important Disney World update! There’s always something up in the parks, and we’re here to tell you everything that’s going to be different in the Disney World this April!

1. You Can Hug Characters Again

This is one of the biggest updates we’ve had in a while! For over 2 years, you haven’t been able to hug a character in the Disney Parks due to health and safety protocols. Disney rolled out the cavalcades so that guests could still see the characters on their visit, and eventually, socially distanced characters meet-and-greets were introduced to the parks.

But starting on April 18th, guests will finally be able to hug characters when they meet them! We’re slowly seeing things get “back to normal” in the parks, and this is a huge sign of that.

2. The Parks are Open LATE

It’s not uncommon for Disney to change the park hours, and if you haven’t checked their calendar in a while, you might be surprised to see that the parks are open for longer now!

All of the parks have added some hours for this month, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting Extended Evening Hours for the first time ever! If you’re staying at select Disney resorts, you can stay in the park for an extra couple of hours!

3. ALL of the Resorts are Open

For the first time since March 2020, all of the Disney World Resorts are finally reopened! The last resort to reopen, Disney’s All-Star Sports resort, just reopened, and now, guests finally have the full list of resorts to choose from when planning their vacation.

Can’t miss it!

There are tons of perks to staying at a Disney Resort like transportation and exclusive parks access, and now that one of Disney’s most affordable resorts is back, even more guests can enjoy those rewards!

4. Animal Kingdom will be Celebrating Earth Day for a Whole Week!

Earth Day is on April 24th, but one day isn’t enough at Animal Kingdom! The park will be celebrating Earth Day for the entire week of April 18th through the 24th. There are tons of exclusive offerings coming to Animal Kingdom for Earth Day!

5. You Might Ride Expedition Everest Again

One of Animal Kingdom’s most popular rides, Expedition Everest, has been closed for routine maintenance since January. We’ve already seen some testing on the ride, and it’s possible that the ride could reopen before the end of the month!

While there’s no confirmed reopening date, we’re hopeful that we’ll get to hop on this amazing coaster soon!
