Guests looking to take advantage of the discounts on Walt Disney World Resort Hotels released today were met with an unwelcome surprise, as heavy traffic on the Walt Disney World website forced guests into a virtual waiting room.

Some guests experienced wait times of over an hour just to access the reservation system. Disney does offer reservation services over the phone, but given the recent average wait time of 3 hours, it may not be to your advantage.

Between March 6 and July 7, guests can save up to $500 on a 5-night stay on select resort hotels, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and Disney’s Riviera Resort. Additionally, Florida Residents can get up to 20% off the price of resort hotel stays between March 11 and July 7. With spring break through July 4 weekend included in the reservation window, it’s unsurprising that the offers are proving to be rather popular.
