We Rope-Dropped a FOOD Location in Disney World?! Here’s WHY!

If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you may have rope-dropped a popular attraction at some point. We’ve discussed the pros and cons of rope drop, but have you ever tried to be first in line for a bakery? Believe it or not, even some FOOD locations in Disney World can accumulate some major lines.

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Don’t believe us? Take a look at the massive line for Gideon’s Bakehouse this morning in Disney Springs.

We arrived at Gideon’s Bakehouse on a cloudy Sunday morning at around 9AM before Disney Springs officially opened. We were allowed to enter Disney Springs a little early, so we headed straight to Gideon’s Bakehouse. As you can see, we weren’t the only ones with this idea.

Line right at opening

By around 9:30, the line was already looking pretty long! Keep in mind that Disney Springs doesn’t officially open until 10AM.

9:26AM, looking pretty long

Take a look at the line only one hour after Disney Springs opened! The queue extended way past Gideon’s Bakehouse and towards the bridge.

The line goes past Morimoto Asia!

As you can see, Gideon’s Bakehouse is a SUPER popular little bakery! It may not look too exciting on the outside, but the lines prove this is a major destination in Disney Springs.

YIKES!

After all that waiting, we tried some new treats! You can read our review of the new holiday Gideon’s treats here.

Keep in mind that we visited Disney Springs during Thanksgiving break AND a weekend, so we weren’t surprised to see a crowd quickly forming. Gideon’s Bakehouse also utilizes a virtual queue, so if you want to avoid standing in such a long line, try seeing if the virtual queue is available! In the meantime, stay tuned for more news, updates, reviews, and more!
