Disney Now Casting for ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond’ Coming Soon to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

finding-nemo-the-musical-gallery03-3006273

“Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond” will be replacing “Finding Nemo: The Musical” at Theater in the Wild next year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after the latter was permanently closed.

Having let go of all the old show’s performers, Disney is now casting for the role of Nemo and ensemble members. Here is how the roles are described:

Nemo: Early 20s. Plays youthful boy. Adorable, endlessly curious, spirited, childlike and fearless, yet at the same time naïve and vulnerable. Bright and youthful mix or belt. Vocal Range Ab3-Eb5.

Ensemble: Musical Theatre style. Strong vocalist and mover, with strong storytelling ability. Casting will have an intentionally inclusive BIPOC approach.

Ensemble characters will be realized by a diverse array of puppetry styles, including rod, bunraku and hand puppetry.

“Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond” will take place in the same timeframe as “Finding Dory,” and guests will find themselves at the Marine Life Institute. Fan-favorite songs from “Finding Nemo: The Musical” will return as we reunite with the fish that escaped from P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney, as they arrive in California.

Actors auditioning for Nemo are required to perform sections of “Big Blue World,” “That’s My Dad,” and “Not My Dad” from “Finding Nemo: The Musical,” although this may not indicate that these songs will be reused.

Additional roles may also be cast from this call. Interested actors can apply on the Disney Auditions website.

Disney Confirms Splash Mountain at Disneyland is Closing for Standard Refurbishment and Not The Princess and the Frog

Splash-Mountain-Disneyland-Reopening

As we stated in our report earlier today, Splash Mountain at Disneyland will be closing on January 10 for an annual refurbishment standard for water rides. This will not be the start of its “The Princess and the Frog” reimagining.

Disney has responded to unfounded speculation from others to confirm this is the case.

The reimagining of both American versions of Splash Mountain is still in the development stages and will likely not be seen for years to come.

Disneyland’s List of Party-Exclusive Merriest Nite Treats Just Got Longer!

Disneyland is hosting a limited number of after-hours events this holiday season called Disney Merriest Nites! The holiday party only spans a few evenings this year, with the remaining events taking place November 30th, December 7th, and December 9th.

It’s the holiday season at Disneyland!

One of the many hallmarks of a Disney after-hours event are the limited-edition, exclusive menu items available across the park, and Merriest Nites has a wide variety of items to try!

Over at Harbour Galley, guests can now order a plant-based Lentil Chili! Disney first made the announcement to current Magic Key Holders, but the item will be available to all guests attending Merriest Nites. Those evenings can get a little chilly in Disneyland, so this chili sounds like it’s the perfect dish to warm you up!

Why You’ll Want Want to AVOID Magic Kingdom on One Day in February in 2022

If you’re planning to visit Disney World next year, there are quite a few things you’ll want to keep in mind — like hotel reservations, Park Pass reservations, dining reservations, and more.

Cinderella Castle

Another thing you’ll want to look at are those park hours. Operating hours can vary by theme park and by day. So, if you’ll only be visiting 1 park per day (a.k.a. you don’t have park hopper tickets) you’ll want to make sure you’re not visiting a park on a day when it might be closing extra early. We already saw one day in early 2022 on which guests might want to skip going to Magic Kingdom, and now we’ve got another important update!

In mid-January of 2022, Magic Kingdom will be closing EXTRA early on one particular day. But, now the Disney calendar has been updated to show that the park will also be closing very early on one day in February. On February 8th, 2022, Magic Kingdom will actually close at 4:30PM.

©Disney

If you don’t have a Park Hopper ticket and that’s the only park you decide to visit on that day, you will be getting a LOT less time in the park. On the day before (February 7th) and the day after (February 9th), Magic Kingdom will stay open until 8PM. That’s 3.5 hours MORE than on the 8th.

So, if you’re planning to visit Disney World during this time in February and you don’t have Park Hopper tickets, you might want to consider avoiding Magic Kingdom on the 8th. Instead, you could spend that day at another park that will be open later and visit Magic Kingdom on one of the surrounding days where it will be open later.

Thunder Mountain

Of course, all park hours are subject to change. Be sure to keep checking for updates on the Disney calendar as your trip gets closer. And stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news.

PHOTOS, VIDEO: New Facilities Tour of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster Available at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

There are a lot of exciting things to do at the Universal Orlando Resort, but we’re always looking to try something different. There are a few attractions around the parks that offer special “tours” around the queue. Team Members will point out hidden details and tell you some interesting facts as they guide you through the queue. These aren’t advertised, but there are a few rides where you can ask Team Members about taking a tour. They are only offered if there are extra Team Members available, so if it is very busy or they are short staffed, you may have to come back another time. Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black, and Fast and Furious are just a few of the attractions that offer these little tours. VelociCoaster is the newest attraction at the Universal Orlando Resort and is now offering a Facilities Tour for guests wanting to learn a little bit more.

universal-orlando-photo-report-11-3-21-48-3339854

We stopped by the entrance of VelociCoaster and asked a Team Member if there was anyone available to give us a Facilities Tour. Crowds were low and there were extra Team Members available, so one Team Member introduced himself and gave us an introduction to the story behind VelociCoaster.

velocicoaster-facility-tour-islands-of-adventure-11-21-14-6093346

We were taken down to the lagoon to check out the Mosasaurus roll first. The Team Member gave us some information about the Mosasaurus in the water as well as fun facts about the coaster. They really gave us a lot of stats about the ride and it’s nice to see the Team Members so passionate and knowledgeable about the coaster.

velocicoaster-statue-in-queue-2-in-existence-facilities-tour-7991701

We were taken through the queue and given some facts about the iconic raptor statue in the center. There are two of these raptor statues in the world and the other one is in Beijing. The coaster vehicle on this model is also missing one car, in case you hadn’t noticed.

You’ll be taken right up to the windows where the second launch happens. The Team Member explained to us how the launch works and details on how quickly you accelerate. The Team Member also had a small flashlight and pointed out a few things on the chart and the cup of water with the ripples by the window.

velocicoaster-facility-tour-islands-of-adventure-11-21-8-6293599

The raptors receive the best care and are always checked after they run. Each raptor is unique and the Team Member will give you information on how the raptors are cared for.

We’ve spent a lot of time watching the coaster from the outside of the raptor paddock, but this is the first time we could stand and watch it from the inside. This is a unique look at the track from the exit of the attraction.

Some details you wouldn’t normally see include the raptor transport cage and the raptor claw marks on the walls near the second launch. Noticing new details like claw marks inside the paddock make this attraction even better.

universal-orlando-photo-report-11-2-2021-26-2472104

The Facilities Tour at the Jurassic World VelociCoaster gives you an up close look at the attraction with fun facts, immersive theming, and plenty of coaster stats. This tour is perfect for riders and non-riders. Whether you’re a fan of the ride or with someone who can’t or doesn’t want to ride, the Facilities Tour is a great way to add some thrill to your day at the Universal Orlando Resort. The tour took between 15 and 20 minutes and we learned a lot of new facts about the attraction. Check out the video below to watch our Facilities Tour at VelociCoaster.
