MENU CHANGE ALERT: Dynamite Cinnamon Rolls and a Price Increase Hits Disney World

Hello, DFB Friends!

We had dynamite for breakfast

We’re in that rare time of the year when Halloween is fading away and Christmas is taking over everything. We’ve already seen holiday decorations at Disney World, and we’ve even learned about some of the holiday snacks we can expect this year. But restaurant menus are also continuing to change at the resort, so we’re monitoring all that, too!

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside

Riverside Mill Food Court

Port Orleans — Riverside has officially reopened, and we’ve seen quite a few changes on the menus there! The first changes we noticed is that the Garden Salad at Riverside Mill Food Court has seen a hefty jump in price — from $3.99 to $8.99.

Outside at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside

The ingredients remain the same, so we’re only hoping that this is a larger portion size, given the big jump in price.

Scat Cat’s Club

There are some items newly added on the Appetizers part of the menu at Scat Cat’s Club, including some New Orleans favorites:

  • Loaded Potato Puffs — Crispy Potato Barrels with Pulled Pork and Beer Cheese Sauce for $11
  • Boudin Balls — a mix of Andouille Sausage, Smoked Sausage, and Dirty Rice Breaded and Fried, served with Rémoulade, Creole Mustard, and Pickled Vegetables for $13
  • Bayou Wings — Smoked Chicken Wings tossed in a Sweet-and-Spicy Barbecue Sauce served with Cajun Fries for $16

Scat Cat’s Club

  • Mardi Gras Fritters — House-made Pimento Cheese Fritters with Pepper Jelly for $10
  • Po Boy Seafood Flatbread — Cheddar and Italian Cheese, Breaded Fried Shrimp and Oysters, Arugula, and Tomato drizzled with Rémoulade for $15

Here’s The One Restaurant That Didn’t Reopen With Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Landscape of Flavors

Some seasonal items have been removed from the menu over at Landscape of Flavors. This includes the Roasted Salmon Dinner, Roasted Buttermilk Chicken, and Pot Roast.

Landscape of Flavors

Those are the only changes here — for now.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Everything POP!

Everything POP! also saw some changes to its seasonal offerings. Both Shrimp and Grits and Roasted Buttermilk Chicken were removed from the menu.

Everything POP!

Like Landscape of Flavors, though, this is the only change we’ve seen this week.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Whispering Canyon Cafe

A new and VERY interesting breakfast item has arrived at Whispering Canyon Cafe — Dynamite Cinnamon Roll Sticks. These are cinnamon rolls that are colored bright red to look like dynamite, which is perfectly on-brand for Wilderness Lodge! The wick of the “dynamite” is chocolate-covered bacon, which is topped with crushed red hot candies. And it’s served with a warm nut glaze on the side to drizzle over the cinnamon rolls.

Dynamite Cinnamon Roll Sticks

This over-the-top treat is available for $12, and they’re both delicious AND fun, so why not give them a try the next time you’re over there!

Disney Springs

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

There have been a few beverage updates over at Jock Lindsey’s. Under “Signature Libations,” the Anything Goes cocktail has been removed.

Anything Goes

Under “Beer,” the Kirin Ichiban Lager is now gone along with a few selections under “Wines” — King Estate Pinot Gris and Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz.

Those are all the menu updates for this week, but we’ll be back soon with even more, so stay tuned!

A grey and blue camo Baby Yoda beanie is here in time for cooler weather with the words ‘Wherever I go, he goes’ as said by The Mandalorian for $21.99. 6 Attractions That’ll Be CLOSED In Disney World This November

Heading to Disney World soon?

Magic Kingdom

You’ll want to make sure you’re prepared for any of the closures that are happening inside the parks or resorts. Whether for construction, updates, or other changes, Disney World will occasionally close different attractions and other things around the parks. We’re looking around at all the refurbishments going on to see what rides and hotels will NOT be available in November.

Let’s start out by looking at the rides and attractions on this list.

Disney World Attractions That Are Closed In November

This coming month, every Disney World park has at least one attraction that’ll be closed for some (if not all) of November.

Magic Kingdom

In the Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s PhilharMagic is currently closed as Imagineers add a new scene inspired by Disney’s Coco to the attraction.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is closed right now

The Disneyland version of PhilharMagic already got this new scene, so you can see a sneak peek here:

The Disney World version of this attraction will reopen with the new scene on November 12th of this year. So if you’re heading down soon, you might be able to catch it!

One attraction that is likely not reopening anytime soon is the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Fantasyland Train Station

The railroad has been closed for a while now because of construction on the TRON Lightcycle Run ride over in Tomorrowland that interfered with the tracks.

TRON construction

We don’t have an opening date for TRON yet, which means we don’t know when construction will end. But we’re expecting the construction to continue (and the WDW Railroad to remain closed) through the end of this year at least.

Fantasyland Station

In the meantime, you can head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a chill train ride in the parks that takes you up to Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom may have a train ride right now (unlike the Magic Kingdom), but a popular attraction is closing for a long refurbishment starting November 1st.

Kali River Rapids

Kali River Rapids will be closed for all of November, and through the rest of this year, too.

Kali River Rapids boat

The water ride will reopen on January 1st, 2022. As far as we know, the closure is for routine maintenance and refurbishments.

EPCOT

EPCOT has two attractions that will be closed for at least part of November as well. In the Morocco pavilion, the Souk-al-Magreb gift shop is currently closed.

Souk-al-Magreb is closed

But we’ve got good news here — the gift shop is scheduled to reopen on November 6th, which is coming up soon.

It’ll open this month!

The Canada Far and Wide film attraction (located in — you guessed it — the Canada pavilion) is still closed…

Canada Far and Wide

…since the space is being used to house the Appleseed Orchard booth for the International Food & Wine Festival this year.

Appleseed Orchard

The festival is going to end on November 20th, and we previously saw opening times for Canada Far and Wide on the following day, November 21st.

Canada Far and Wide Film

Recently, however, we checked again and saw that no times are showing. So the attraction may reopen when the festival ends, but we can’t say for sure yet. Disney hasn’t announced its reopening date as of writing.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular has been closed in Hollywood Studios since Disney World reopened last year.

It’s coming back!!

But its closure is coming to an end soon! This attraction got a reopening date of December 19th, 2021.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

So it’ll still be closed for all of November, but we’re getting closer to seeing the stunt show again soon.

Click Here for an Update on the Upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Ride in EPCOT

That covers it for the attractions that’ll be closed in November, but what about the hotels around Disney World?

Disney World Hotels That Are Closed In November

Now that Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort has reopened, only one hotel remains completely closed in Disney World: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

All-Star Sports Entrance

This hotel was supposed to reopen in December of this year, but Disney announced that its return would be delayed due to more refurbishments.

All-Star Sports

They did not give a reopening date, though, so All-Star Sports is closed indefinitely for now.

All-Star Sports Resort

Another Disney World hotel that recently reopened is Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort.

Port Orleans – Riverside

While we were there, we learned that the Boatwright’s Dining Hall did not reopen with the resort. When we asked a Cast Member about it, they informed us that the restaurant will probably open sometime in December.

Boatwright’s Dining Hall

So if you’re heading to Riverside soon, check out one of the other restaurants at the hotel, or you can even head to Port Orleans – French Quarter for more food options.

Earlier this year, Disney announced that they were going to transform one building of Grand Floridian hotel rooms into Disney Vacation Club Villas. The Big Pine Key (building 9) building will become 200 Resort Studios, which are going to open in the summer of 2022.

We got a first look at what some of these DVC villas will look like, and it seems like they’ll be quite luxurious.

Some renovations and changes will begin at the Grand Floridian for these rooms starting in November, and they won’t be finished until the summer of next year.

That’s it for our update of what’ll be closed in Disney World this coming November. Stay tuned with DFB for more tips as you plan your next Disney World vacation.

Disney+ Announces Additional Cast for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’

This Spring, Disney+ announced “Hocus Pocus 2” was greenlit, and today, on Halloween, the streamer released additional casting information. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as the delightfully wicked Sanderson Sisters, and joining them will be Doug Jones, who you may remember also appeared in the original film as… Read More »Disney+ Announces Additional Cast for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’

polynesian-dvc-deluxe-studio-5-2640455

While many rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort were refurbished to include “Moana” theming, Disney Vacation Club rooms only received a soft goods update. A soft good update means that instead of a full refurbishment, smaller elements like sheets, artwork, and sometimes furniture have been replaced. This room has a queen-size bed with plain white sheets. There are also two other beds, which we’ll get to in a moment. The chairs and sofa have been switched from red to blue. […]

NEWS: American Airlines Cancels Over 600 Flights Today

One key part of a Disney trip is air travel!

Orlando International Airport

Usually, finding a flight to Orlando is fairly doable, but recently, widespread flight cancellations and shortages have made air travel a challenge. Today, we’ve got an update about the recent American Airlines flight shortage.

CNN reported that 634 American Airlines flights were canceled on October 31st, 2021 due to staffing shortages and weather-related issues. This means that American Airlines has now canceled about 1,500 flights in the last three days. There were also a significant amount of flights being delayed.

What Airline Do You Prefer to Fly With?

In response to these shortages and cancellations, American Airlines will increase hiring leading into the holiday season and 1,800 flight attendants will be coming back from leave on November 1st, with more employees returning throughout November.

Southwest faced a similar shortage earlier in October, with over 2,000 flights being canceled as well as widespread delays across the country.
