Review: This Was the BIGGEST Letdown We’ve Had All Week in Disney World

We’re ALL about the fancy eats in Disney World.

Now That’s One Pretty Cake!

But sometimes, we’re in the mood for something off the good ol’ kids’ menu. And luckily, Disney totally lets you do that! So when we noticed some tasty lookin’ eats on the menu at Nomad Lounge in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we decided to give ’em a try.

All right, we ordered a WHOLE lot of food here. What you see here is a kids’ Mac and Cheese, a kids’ Cookies and Cream Brownie, some churros, and the Honey Bee Beer that we SO love.

Get ready to EAT!

So let’s get tasting! We’re gonna kick things off with that mac and cheese. Now, you can technically order this as a side with a kids’ meal, but we snagged it on its own for $5. It’s a white cheddar mac and cheese, so you’d expect some great flavor…but it was a letdown.

White Cheddar Mac and Cheese

What was so tragic about it? Well, a LOT. For starters, it wasn’t creamy at all. It was also bland — it could’ve used quite a bit more salt. Lastly, we would’ve loved to see a LOT more cheese on this thing.

WHERE is the cheese?!

If you’re on the hunt for cheesy, flavorful mac, you’re gonna want to pass.

Womp, womp.

We’ll move on to the next kids’ item of our feast: the Cookies and Cream Brownie! It was basic: tasty but lacking anything special. The texture was a strange mousse/brownie hybrid, which took some getting used to.

It’s brownie time!

We wanted the Oreo to pack a little more punch — think the Grey Stuff at Gaston’s Tavern! But if you do want some more flavor, you can always help yourself to the strawberry sauce on the side.

Not our favorite!

We had no big complaints on this brownie, but it didn’t really wow us. Again, you can opt to get this on the side of a kids’ meal, or you can grab it on its own for $6!

Here’s a closer look!

The standout of this meal were those CHURROS! They come with vanilla bean and strawberry chili dipping sauces, which were just fantastic.

We NEED more of these churros.

The churros were warm and crumbly, and fell apart in our mouths in perfect goodness. Our favorite sauce was that strawberry chili, but we’d recommend either.

YUM.

You can order these up for $9! Out of the three dishes we’d tried, if we’re being honest with ya, this is the only one we’d order again.

We’re dreaming of eating these again.

Last but not least, we’re moving on to that beer! It’s the same Honey Bee Citrus Blonde Ale you’ll find at The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival! You can also get it at  Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Beer time!

We’ve already reviewed this beer plenty for ya, but we ARE gonna remind you that it has a perfectly slight honey flavor, making it a great spring sip. It costs $9.25!

Still a favorite!

Okay, that was a LOT of food! While we’re usually all in favor of ordering off the kids’ menu at Disney World, you may want to skip it here. Of course, kids will likely love these dishes, but adults will really notice the lack of flavor. Those churros, on the other hand?! They’re a must if you swing by Nomad Lounge.
