We’re spending the day at EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival!
We’re checking out the merchandise and strolling around to check out all the gardens and topiaries. But, if you know us well, then you know that our favorite part of the fest is the food! And we’re stopping by the France Pavilion to try out some new eats.
Menu
The menu for this booth has some familiar favorites, but also two new options that we’re psyched to try out. The Macaron au Chocolate en Sucette and the Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel were not on last year’s list, and they both sound amazing!
Food
The Tarte aux Oignons Caramélisés et Chèvre is a returning favorite! It’s a Goat Cheese Tart with caramelized onions served on a flaky pastry crust, and costs $5.50. We loved the light and buttery crust paired with the more intense onion flavor.
The Canard Confit à l’Orange aux Gnocchi à la Parisienne is similar to the duck confit that we’ve seen here in the past, except this time, it’s served with gnocchi! You can pick up this year’s version for $6.50.
This is some of the best duck we’ve had! It’s cooked fabulously, and that boost of flavor stems from the gnocchi. We should note that there isn’t a strong orange taste, but we enjoyed the more earthy notes from the sauce.
Now, onto dessert! The Macaron au Chocolate en Sucette (aka the chocolate macaron lollipop) is BACK from 2019, and we’re pretty excited. It’s $5.95.
The last food option is the Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel (what a name!). To translate that into English for ya, it’s a Caramelized Beignet filled with Vanilla Cream and glazed with Caramel Fleur de Sel.
We noticed right off the bat that this tasted more like a donut than a beignet — it’s pretty thick, in contrast to the more airy beignets we’re used to! However, we LOVED it anyway. The crystallized caramel glaze was incredible! But if you want this treat to be a little less sweet, aim for the bites with less vanilla cream.
This was one of our favorite desserts yet! It costs $5.25.
Drinks
At Fleur de Lys, you’ll find a broad selection of adult beverages. Some returning options on the menu are a Kronenbourg Blanc 1664 Draft Beer ($5.00 for a 6 oz or $9.00 for a 12 oz), a VeRy Raspberry: Rosé Wine with Natural Raspberry Flavor for $5.75…
…and the popular La Vie en Rose Frozen Slushy for $12.50. This sweet sip has Vodka, Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka, St. Germain Liqueur, and White and Red Cranberry Juice!
There are also two brand-new options this year: Chardonnay, Le Vieux Manoir and Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec Blend, Château Lorient. The Chardonnay is crisp and refreshing, but surprisingly not sweet. It costs $5.
And the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec Blend, Château Lorient is a dry blend — it’s tasty but also not at all sweet. If you prefer lighter, sweeter wines — or if you’re new to wine in general — we’d recommend steering clear!
This one costs $6.75.
Overall
We really enjoyed the eats at this booth! The Caramelized Beignet was one of our favorite treats yet and the drinks, while not sweet, were still great. With TWO Best of the Fest contenders, we definitely recommend stopping by Fleur de Lys!
We’ll keep trying all the food at the Flower and Garden Festival, so stay tuned for more reviews!
