Review: More Delicious Proof That You CAN Snack Healthy at Disney World!

Here at DFB, we LOVE snacking our way through Disney World. But every once in a while, we try to squeeze in something healthier.

The Polite Pig at Disney Springs!

And that means you get to hear about one of the least eaten snacks at Disney World — salads. Recently, we had our servings of green from the BoardWalk Bakery and now we’re giving another salad a try (we know, very unlike us). So, join us as we take a break from our regularly scheduled Disney dessert programming and try out something on the lighter side.

Where is our salad journey taking us to next? The Polite Pig at Disney Springs! We ordered the Florida Strawberry Salad. The salad is made with organic field greens, strawberries, feta, granola, sorghum dressing, and garnished with edible magnolia petals. You can order this decadent salad as a side for $6 or full for $13. We played it safe and got the side portion to make sure we weren’t overdoing it with the whole “health food” thing.

And it turns out, we wish we had ordered the full size of this salad! Let’s first gush about the strawberries. We would like to personally thank the person who thought “hey, let’s throw some fruit on there” — it adds some great flavor! And, then combine it with the feta cheese — dee-lish-us! The granola is made with candied oats and pecan pieces and adds a good crunch to the salad too.

Look at that close-up shot — she’s pretty!

And honestly, there wasn’t anything we would change about this salad! Beyond the strawberries and feta, we also loved the dressing! Sorghum dressing is a southern vinaigrette-style dressing, and it reminded us a lot of balsamic vinaigrette.

A lil’ bit of everything please!

We don’t think there are many people who won’t like this spring salad so, unless you’re anti-green food, we think this is a great dish to try! Plus, it’s got FLOWERS on top. If you’re looking for something healthy to go with all those Disney snacks and you find yourself in Disney Springs, head on over to The Polite Pig and let us know what you think!
