Review! We Tried Plant-Based Macarons at Disney World. Were They Good?

There are lots of great options in Disney World for plant-based eaters!

Vegan Hot Chocolate

Recently, we’ve seen vegan lobster, a vegan churro and chocolate cupcake, and a few vegan cake bars! Erin McKenna’s Bakery in Disney Springs is a great spot to visit if you’re a plant-based or gluten-free eater. Last year, Disney even made a huge push to include plant-based options on all their menus! Now, we’ve spotted a new sweet treat everyone can love.

The latest plant-based snack is now available at Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The macarons come in a pack of 5 for $14. That’s less than 3 bucks a mac!

Vegan Macarons

We really liked the textures of this dessert. The crème was smooth and creamy, and the cookie had a nice little crunch. They complimented each other well! If you didn’t know these little cookies were plant-based, you’d probably never guess!

Vegan Macaron

TThe surprise here: the macarons are peppermint flavored! The downside here is that we found the peppermint flavor in the cookie to be a tad reminiscent of toothpaste. While we enjoyed the macarons, we definitely think that the ones in EPCOT’s France pavilion still reign supreme.

If you’re looking for a plant-based dessert and you love peppermint, this may be just right for you. The texture is pretty spot-on compared to a “regular” macaron. We really enjoyed the texture, but the flavor was a bit too aggressively MINT for us. We love seeing more inclusive dining options around Disney World, especially unique sweets like this box of macarons! Stay tuned for more food reviews, especially all the updates from opening day of EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays!
