REVIEW! EPCOT’s Yukon Kitchen Brought Us RICH Beef Bourguignon and GORGEOUS Gingerbread Cakes!

Hello from EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion!

Yukon Booth Items

We’ve been trying out several of the booths for the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! We tried a Warm Brown Sugar-Stuffed Pretzel that was to die for and a Pumpkin Spice Margarita that surprised us with good flavors! We made our way to Canada for a taste of the returning Yukon Holiday Kitchen!

The Yukon Holiday Kitchen features seafood, beef, frozen coffee, and a maple mousse chocolate chiffon cake. (Yes, you read that last one right!) This location is also a part of the festival’s Cookie Stroll and where you can pick up the Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie. But how does this booth compare to last year? Let’s find out!

Food

While visiting this booth we decided to grab the Seared Scallops, Beef Bourguignon, and Maple Bûche de Noël (the chocolate concoction we mentioned earlier). Let’s start with the Seared Scallops! The appealing dish is served with parsnip silk, apple chutney, and hazelnut croquant.

Seared Scallops with Parsnip Silk

This dish is BEAUTIFUL to look at and to eat! We believed the scallops were prepped very well. The parsnip silk was creamy and the garnishes added a lot of flavor to the entree. We’re usually fans of how EPCOT prepares their scallops and this was no exception. Scallop fans will like this entree! The dish costs $6.

Next up, the Beef Bourguignon! It’s a good thing the weather has cooled down a little. This dish is rich with flavor and delicious meat! It’s served with crushed potatoes for an extra layer of hearty taste.

Beef Bourguignon

The beef was tasty and fantastic comfort food. Just looking at this dish makes you want to curl up next to a fire and a Christmas tree. It’s a thick and rich meal that has a great value for the price. This entree costs $5.75.

For dessert, we had to try Maple Bûche de Noël! The maple mousse and cranberries are rolled inside a gingerbread chiffon cake. And what a masterpiece! The treat is shaped into a yule log and the top is covered with more cream and decorations for added beauty.

Maple Buche de Noel

The cake had an absolutely lovely maple flavor that complimented the chocolate nicely. The dessert tastes as elegant as it looks! It’s also a great size and easily sharable. This piece of art costs $4.50.

We also picked up the Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie to add to our growing list of Cookie Stroll treats! This was one of our favorite cookies last year and we happily tried it again! The main ingredient here is, you guessed it, peppermint! The classic pinwheel cookie gets a twist with the minty candy flavors and holiday sprinkles.

The crisp and sugary Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies are $2.50.

Beverages

We ordered the Frozen Coffee to wash down our chocolate mousse and give us a late afternoon pick-me-up! The coffee comes spiked with Tap 357 Whisky. Although it’s frozen, this will definitely keep you warm in the wintertime!

Frozen Coffee with Tap 357 Whisky

We would absolutely buy the Frozen Coffee drink again! The whisky is strong (but in a good way) and pairs nicely with the cold coffee. The spiked coffee is $11 and the non-alcoholic Frozen Coffee is $4.

We finished our adventures with the Maple Cinnamon Coffee Beer. That’s a lot of flavors in one beer! As you might imagine, the beer is a dark porter so it’s quite rich. Still, we believed it went down smoothly despite the rich and sweet flavors. The beer is brewed locally at 81Bay Brewing Co. in Tampa, Florida. The beer costs $4.50 for 6 oz. and $8.50 for a 12 oz cup.
