PHOTOS: Cobblestone Streets, Landscaping, and More Detail Work Continues at the France Pavilion Expansion in EPCOT

france-construction-09-29-22

As construction continues in EPCOT’s France Pavilion, we’ve been spotting more details appearing in the expansion. There is now signage for La Creperie de Paris and more evidence that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be getting signage soon. We saw workers at the windows of La Creperie de Paris, which will be on the righthand corner of the expansion’s main street. Landscaping is almost complete around the yellow and blue building across from the Creperie, with only a small section of […]

REVIEW: Is Docking Bay 7 the Best Quick Service Dining at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

When Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opened one year ago, there was much discussion about the food and beverage offerings at the galactic outpost. One of the ways a theme park can immerse its guests into each themed environment is the food. At Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, inside Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll find immersive details, even down to the menu and the meal itself. Our team ventured to a galaxy far, far away to have lunch, based on your votes on Twitter.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is the main food and beverage location inside Galaxy’s Edge. It is a counter service location with indoor and outdoor dining spaces that are well-themed. It is a fun environment in which to dine. Mobile ordering is available here, making it a great choice for convenience, environment, and flavor.

Docking Bay 7 Outdoor Dining

Cast Members are stationed outside of Docking Bay 7 to assist with mobile ordering questions and direct guests to the appropriate window once their order is ready. Moving to exclusive mobile ordering reduces crowds and enhances social distancing.

Docking Bay 7 Entrance

Our readers have submitted over 500,000 surveys in the past few years and Docking Bay 7 is well rated. It has earned an 88% thumbs up rating and is ranked number 38 out of 109 counter service and quick dining options at Walt Disney World. The menu is a good balance of simple approachable options like ribs and fried chicken, as well as fare that some might consider adventurous like the plant-based Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread – which is one of the most popular plant-based dishes in all of Walt Disney World. Specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic specialty drinks pair great with your galactic meal. Breakfast is a great option here too.

Docking Bay 7 Plant-Based Kefta

The plant-based Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread is exactly what our field reporter ordered. It is a great option if you want something satisfying without being weighed down. The plant-based meatballs have some spice to them without being overly spicy. The texture does give away that it is plant-based, but the flavor is delightful. The hummus and diced tomato and cucumber are refreshing, and the pita bread is light and airy. For $12.99 it is a decent value, but would feel like a better value at $10 -$11.

If you want to escape the traditional burgers and fries or pizza options found in all theme parks, Docking Bay 7 is the way to go. For many Disney fans, it is the best quick service inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios in terms of overall experience.

PHOTOS: Construction Walls Extended Around Facade of “it’s a small world” at the Magic Kingdom

its-a-small-world-entrance-construction-walls-expand-magic-kingdom-7

The refurbishment of “it’s a small world” has started to expand at the Magic Kingdom. Just a day after we reported that construction walls had gone up at the attraction’s exit, even more walls have been installed across the facade. At the exit, the green face of the construction “ceiling” has been added, giving a uniformity to the walls and suggesting that this work may take a while to complete. Until 2005, this area served as the attraction’s entrance. With […]

ANOTHER Pair of Disney Minnie Ears Has Received a Mini Makeover!

Is it possible to have too many Minnie Ears? We don’t think so!!

Ears Wall

But these days, there are so many new Minnie Ears that it’s becoming a challenge (although a FUN one!!) to keep up! For instance, in recent weeks, we’ve seen Disney’s new Cupcakes and Cashmere Minnie Ears debut online (Wow! Did they sell out FAST!!) and even the release of Fish and Chips Minnie Ears at EPCOT. And now we’ve discovered that a pair of Minnie Ears we know and love has received a bit of a makeover!

So this new pair of Minnie Ears looks A LOT like its original design, but with a few subtle changes.

New Black and White Polka Dot Minnie Ears with Red Bow

The top pair of Minnie Ears in this photo is the NEW ears while the pair at the bottom is the original. While the difference wasn’t too obvious from far away, we’re thinking this new take on this classic Minnie look is a subtle improvement!

Comparing the new design of the Minnie Ears with the old!

The new pair has a MUCH fluffier bow. Also, while the original pair had black on the inside of the headband, this new version is lined with red to really make it POP! Annnnd the polka dots are a little bigger as well!

One more comparison of the original design with the new!

If you’re loving this look and the new design, we found it at the Emporium at the Magic Kingdom for $29.99! But we will definitely be looking for them at the other parks and resorts as well!

Click here to check out these new black and white Minnie Ears!

Details Beginning to Surface on Massive Layoffs Coming to Disney Cast Members

While Tuesday’s announcement from Josh D’Amaro stating that the Walt Disney Company is getting ready to begin laying off 28,000 of their theme parks, Imagineering, and Disney Cruise Line cast members was alarming to most, there weren’t many additional details revealed aside from that massive number.

In a new report that Disney filed with the State of Florida, we’ve learned that approximately 6,700 of the 28,000 impending layoffs consist of non-union employees. Those non-union layoffs are set to begin on December 4, 2020, according to an article in the Orlando Sentinel.

Several of the unions who have members at Disneyland and Walt Disney World who will be affected by these layoffs have published statements regarding some of the specifics; take a look below. The first two images are from unions in California and the last image from Local 362 which represents six unions in Florida.

Senator Pat Bates Urges California Governor to Reconsider Position on Reopening California’s Theme Parks

California senator and former Disneyland employee Pat Bates is “shocked and heartbroken” to learn that 28,000 Cast Members are being laid off at Disney Parks. The layoff announcement was made today by Disney Parks Chairman, Josh D’Amaro: In light of the prolonged impact of COVID-19 on our business, including limited capacity due to physical distancing requirements and the continued uncertainty regarding the duration of the pandemic – exacerbated in California by the State’s unwillingness to lift restrictions that would allow Disneyland to […]
