Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has been a huge hit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ever since it opened earlier this year.

And before it even opened at Walt Disney World, we learned that a version of this ride will ALSO be opening in ToonTown at Disneyland Park.

And now, we have an official target date for when this attraction is set to open on the West Coast…

2023. When officially announced at the D23 Expo in 2019, the target date for the West Coast version of this ride was 2022, but it has since been pushed back. Sorry, Anaheim, you’re going to have to wait a LITTLE longer to take a ride with conductor Goofy.

Today, Walt Disney Imagineering posted an Instagram stating that the first steel beam had been installed for the attraction!

Disney Imagineers were joined by Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock for the big occasion, but buried in the Instagram post was the revelation that this ride will be coming in 2023, not ’22 as originally announced.

Disneyland may be closed, but there’s still been movement on big construction projects during this time, including work on the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. And when there are any other big updates over at Disneyland, you know we’ll fill you in!

These little changes MAY mean we’re closer to Disneyland’s reopening!
