We’re Ranking the Lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios By Their Snacks!

Alright, guys! Who’s hungry for another totally epic ranking?? We know Chewbacca certainly is! After all, he’s got some skin the game with his Wookiee Cookie!

It’s Chewbacca!

So far, we’ve ranked the lands at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom by just their snacks and snacks ALONE! And you probably guessed it — we’re getting ready to hit up the lands of Disney’s Hollywood Studios next!

You know us — we can usually find an endearing quality about MOST snacks at Disney World, but some are clearly just STANDOUTS! That’s why you already know the drill by now — we’ll start at the bottom and work our way to the top of the list! Let’s get snackin’!

7th Place: Animation Courtyard

Neighborhood Bakery

We know what you’re thinking — we just said we’re starting at the bottom, and one of our favorite snacks in all of Disney World is in dead last?!? Cover your ears, Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie! We don’t want you to hear what we’re about to say!

Jack Jack’s Cookie Num Nums are now in Hollywood Studios

It’s not that the Num Num Cookie isn’t totally going to change your life — it’s just that Hollywood Studios’ Animation Courtyard doesn’t have much else to offer! Sure, you can score The Incredibles’ incredibly THICC Num Num Cookie, but now that the key lime pie on a stick is gone, that’s about as much excitement as you’re gonna get over here! Let’s just say this is kind of a no-man’s land when it comes to having lots of options!

Find out more about Jack Jack’s Num Num Cookie here!

Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company

Okay, we spoke too soon…there is one other tiny thrill at Animation Courtyard that you might not even know about because it tends to sell out soooo quickly! It’s a French Toast Pretzel that the Market sells for breakfast! Seek it out next time you’re at Hollywood Studios in the wee early AM!

French Toast Pretzel

And since the Market doubles as a Joffrey’s location, you can grab all your specialty coffee drinks and iced teas here for a morning pick-me-up and afternoon cool down!

Read our review of the French Toast Pretzel HERE!

6th Place: Sunset Boulevard

KRNR: The Rock Station

If you’re not a fan of Rock N Rollercoaster, you might not even know this quick-service spot exists! It’s tucked away from the rest of Sunset Boulevard right in the courtyard of the ride. It’s where you’ll find some hard-rockin’ Hot Dogs and Mac and Cheese creations like this creamy Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese.

Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese

But don’t let its edgy, Steven-Tyler-leather-pants-wearing-attitude fool you. KRNR: The Rock Station has a soft way to rock, too! You’ll find a sweet Chocolate Chip Cookie here as well!

Read our review of the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese here! Spoiler alert: it totally ROCKS!

Catalina Eddie’s

Back on the main drag, this Sunset Boulevard spot is mostly known for its pizzas and salads, which are pretty standard fare. But if your favorite Disney park snack happens to be carb-related, check out Eddie’s Breadsticks which come with a yummy marinara sauce (or ranch or Caesar dressing!) for dunking!

Catalina Eddie’s Breadsticks

They also have a mean Strawberry Shortcake Verrine! As you’ll soon see, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a THING about verrines. They’re literally everywhere.

Strawberry Shortcake Verrine

You can’t throw a rock in Hollywood Studios without hitting one of these mini trifle-like desserts!

Read more about Hollywood Studios’ verrine selection here!

Fairfax Fare

Steps away, you’ll find the Tres Leches Verrine that’s two so far for those of you who are keeping count on the verrines! 😉

Tres Leches Verrine

The tres leches makes this verrine a little richer than some of the others, but the fresh strawberries balance out the flavors nicely!

Click here to read our review of the Tres Leches Verrine!

Rosie’s All American Cafe

This little counter-service joint is known for turning out burgers and sandwiches in short order, but they’ve also got the Chocolate Verrine! Tic-tac-toe — that’s three verrines in a row!

Chocolate Verrine

If all those sweet verrines have you wanting something a little more savory, go for Rosie’s Fried Onion Straws which come with a side of Texas Petal Sauce!

Fried Onion Straws

Yeah, we’ve been known to plow through a basket of these crispy bad boys pretty easily! If you prefer French Fries instead, they’ve got those too!

Read our FULL REVIEW of Rosie’s Fried Onion Petals here!

Hollywood Scoops

After enjoying all of those onion straws, you might need to freshen up! If there’s a more delicious way than enjoying two scoops of Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream at Hollywood Scoops, we haven’t found it yet!

Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream

This is just one of several flavors of ice cream you’ll find here! Plus, they have all kinds of hand-scooped ice cream creations, like Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches and Specialty Sundaes including this Apple Crisp à la Mode! It has delicious hunks of Cinnamon Apples topped with Old-fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce, and crumbles of Streusel!

Apple Crisp a la Mode at Hollywood Scoops

We don’t want the Brownie Sundae to think we’re playing favorites though — he’s a snack we often have to scoop up for ourselves when an ice cream craving hits!

Click here to see more of that Apple Pie à la Mode!

5th Place: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

From the old-timey star-studded streets of Sunset Boulevard, we’re blasting off into outer space! Who do we have to thank for finally making the yummy Mac and Cheese that originally came with the kids’ meal version of Docking Bay’s Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip a bonafide side item? Was it you, Luke Skywalker??

Fried Chicken with Mac and Cheese

We’re all. about. that. MAC! If you ask, you can often get the mac as just a side, which totally throws this into snack territory for us! The rest of the menu here has a lil’ sumthin’ for everyone in your crew, but definitely registers much more on the full-scale meal side of things than they do snacks!

Click here to admire more of that gooey mac and cheese at Docking Bay 7!

Kat Saka’s Kettle

Love it or hate it, the OutPost Mix is an interesting treat! Some of our team members happen to think the spicy and sweet flavors of this popcorn don’t marry very well while others think it’s just about the best thing ever!

Outpost Popcorn Mix

Grab some and give it a try! It might become your new favorite (or least favorite!) snack!

Find out more about Kat Saka’s Outpost Popcorn here!

You can’t go wrong with good ol’ Galaxy Green Popcorn though. Even though it looks pretty adventurous, it’s just regular butter-flavored popcorn with green food dye!

Galaxy Green Popcorn

And we just happen to know the perfect green beverage to wash down your Galaxy Green Popcorn!

Learn more details about the new Galaxy Green Popcorn here!

Milk Stand

That’s right, stormtroopers! Green and Blue Milk from the Star Wars films! These super sci-fi beverages are available in boozy and non-alcoholic versions!

Boozy Green and Blue Milk Coolers

And just a hop, skip, and a hyperspace jump away, you’ll find another one of the Black Spire Outpost’s purveyors of fine spirits!

See what Green and Blue Milk tastes like here!

Oga’s Cantina

Now don’t expect to just walk right in and pony up to the bar at Oga’s. You’ll almost certainly need an advance dining reservation to get inside this little slice of heaven. And although the menu consists mainly of colorful pre-mixed drinks, there are a few snacks to explore such as Oga’s Obsession — a Petri dish-looking gelatin dessert!

Rodian Ration

You can even get a boozy similar version of this treat called the Rodian Ration. Think of it like a big galactic Jello shot!

Read what the Rodian Ration tastes like here!

You’ll also find Batuu Bits — a crispy intergalactic snack with Veggie Bits served with Spiced Chermoula Dip!

Batuu Bits in Hollywood Studios

And yep — those are chocolate meringues for some reason. Honestly, this one is…not our favorite. If you really love freeze-dried veggies though, it can make for a healthy snack while you sip! That dip is really good, though!

Get the deets on Oga’s Batuu Bits here!

There’s also a not-so-secret-anymore charcuterie board known as the Happabore Sampler that’s finally on the actual menu at Oga’s! This one is…not recommended. It’s a high price for a plate that doesn’t deliver.

Charcuterie Board at Oga’s

But here’s a secret trick you might not know about — you can get the Bantha Cookie Topper — that’s normally served as part of the Blue Bantha drink — on its own for $4! If you like Samoa girl scout cookies you’ll love this!

Blue Bantha Cookie Topper

That’s right, friends, we’re making it rain Bantha Cookies! YOU get a Bantha Cookie! And YOU get a Bantha Cookie! Well, at least we would if the technology existed! Who knows? Maybe we’ll have the power to electronically distribute Bantha Cookies someday!

Click here to learn more about scoring a Bantha Cookie snack!

4th Place: Grand Avenue

ABC Commissary

Moving on to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’s neighboring land, you’ll find the Smore Cookie! Now this isn’t like the ooey-gooey one you’ll find at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, but it’s pretty nummy!

S’more Cookie

That Strawberry Shortcake Verrine makes an appearance here too! These little cups are EVERYWHERE in this park!

And if you’re looking for something a lot more savory than sweet, go for a bowl of Southwestern Steak Fries!

Southwestern Steak Fries

These are thick-cut Steak Fries dusted in Chili-lime Seasoning finished with a Chipotle Aïoli Drizzle and Queso Fresco! We could eat these by the trough-load!

Read our review of the Southwestern Steak Fries here!

BaseLine Tap House

BaseLine is also bringing its Grand Ave. A-game with a variety of Create-Your-Own Beer Flights, along with Charcuterie, Nuts, Bavarian Pretzels, and other snacks!

Appetizers at BaseLine Tap House

Check out our Full Review of BaseLine Tap House here!

On a scale from one to ten, how much do we love this place? It’s a solid ten, YOU GUYS! No trip to Disney World is complete without a stop-and-sit at Baseline’s totally chill outdoor patio! Try their Coffee-Rubbed Ribeye Steak Puff next time you go to Hollywood Studios if you haven’t already (and if it’s on the menu — it comes and goes)!

Coffee Rubbed Rib Eye Steak Puff

And did we mention already this place serves flights of Californian craft brews? Beer is sorta a snack, right? 😉 At the very least, it really enhances the flavors of snacks you can enjoy with it!

Read more about the Coffee Rubbed Rib Eye Puff here!

PizzeRizzo

You’ll find theA Galaxy Far, Far Away” Espresso Mousse Dome at PizzeRizzo as well as a Cannoli, although everyone just really stops here for the pizza!

Closeup on Vegetable Pizza

There’s nothing crazy special about it. It’s just the same puffy, pillowy, doughy pizza you’ll find at most Disney World counter service restaurants, but it’s a quick, cheesy, saucy, carby fill-up to fuel the rest of your fun!

3rd Place: Toy Story Land

Woody’s Lunch Box

And just like that, we’re already to our second runner-up! Now, Toy Story Land only has one dining location to giddy up to right now, but soon a joint called Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be opening!

Luckily, Woody’s Lunch Box has plenty of snacks to tide us over until that day comes. One of them is the sacred Lunch Box Tart!

Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart

It’s hard to express our love for this pastry square, but these things are truly one of the reasons we come to Hollywood Studios in the first place. Currently, Woody’s is serving a Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart (with Maple Fondant and Candied Bacon!). They also normally serve a seasonal tart like this spring-time Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart!

Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart

Is it basically just a fancied-up Pop-Tart like you’d find at your grocery store? Yup, and there’s not a thing wrong with that!

Read our review of the Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart here!

And if that’s not enough excitement for you, lasso up some “Totchos!” These are baked Potato Barrels” (a.k.a. Tater Tots!) coated with Beef and Bean Chili, Shredded Cheese, Queso, Tomatoes, and Corn Chips, finished with Sour Cream, and a sprinkle of Green Onions! Okay, we just made ourselves VERRRY hungry!

Totchos

While we go rustle up some “Potato Barrels” from our freezers, don’t forget you can also enjoy eating a Mini Babybel Cheese while sitting on a GIANT Babybel Cheese! Yup — some of Woody’s Lunch Box’s more eclectic seating options are actually made to resemble the iconic cheese snack! Be wary though — snagging seating here is practically impossible, in our experience. But it’s fun if you DO get a seat!

2nd Place: Echo Lake

Backlot Express

There’s pretty much one reason and one reason only why Echo Lake made it to the first runner up spot and that’s because of THIS treat — the Wookiee Cookie!

Wookiee Cookie at Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios dropped this little number on us last year and our lives have never been the same! It’s a big, moist sandwich made from two oatmeal cookies smushed together with a fluffy, marshmallow cream frosting. And we can’t forget his little milk chocolate bandolier either! That’s how you know it’s Chewie-approved! It like a giant, awesome version of those OCPs you might have had in your lunchbox as a kid!

Read our FULL REVIEW of the Wookiee Cookie HERE!

But there are other tasty snacks at Backlot Express like the Mickey Celebration Cake! This treat appeared in celebration of Hollywood Studios’ 30th anniversary!

Mickey Mouse Celebration Cupcake

We see fun seasonal and specialty treats rotate through this location every so often, so it’s a good spot to keep an eye on.

Find out about the other 30th Anniversary Treats at Hollywood Studios here!

Other sweet surprises include the BB-8 and Jango Fett Souvenir Steins as well as the chance to upgrade your French Fries with Cheese Sauce for only a buck!

Cheese Sign

Hey, give us a break! We love cups of Cheese Sauce! It’s just WHO WE ARE! We’ve come to realize this about ourselves and we feel no shame in our cheese-lovin’ game!

Click here to experience the beauty of $1 cups o’ cheese!

Dockside Diner

Just a short stroll away, things get even CHEESIER with Echo Lake’s loch ness Loaded Chili-Cheese Nachos! Just look at all that warm, melty cheese!

Loaded Chili Cheese Nachos

But the S’mores Brownie is a chocolate lover’s dream! All that’s missing is the campfire!

S’mores Brownie

And we can’t forget the Chocolate Gems Brownie that just recently sailed into Dockside!

Chocolate Gems Brownie

We think it’s called “Gems” because the top is literally encrusted with M&M Candies! Of course, if you want to go waaay over the top with your toppings, you gotta check out this next place!

See what we thought of the Chocolate Gems Brownie here!

Epic Eats

Formerly known as Oasis Canteen, we like to think Epic Eats gets its name from the totally extreme Funnel Cakes it serves!

Epic Eats Funnel Cake

While they also serve root beer floats and soft serve here, the star is those killer funnel cakes! We’re talking awesomeness like a giant fresh-fried funnel cake doused in strawberries or Oreo crumbles THEN topped with a massive swirl of soft serve AND powdered sugar. Epic, indeed.

But even though these fried doughy delights look absolutely humongous (and insane!), you can actually use a snack credit on them if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan! In fact, you can check out which other high-dollar snacks at Disney World are a great value for your Disney Dining Plan snack credits here! You only get two a day no matter which dining package you’re on, so you gotta make ’em count!

Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction

And last but not least before we get to our big winner, we gotta mention this sweet dino-shaped ice cream stand! We love us some Gertie!

Gertie’s Ice Cream

There are just some standard Ice Cream offerings here, but the building is unimaginably cute! Plus Gertie usually dons a Santa hat during the holidays so we’re all about this little Echo Lake spot!

Gertie’s, Open for Business!

Most people don’t know that this dino actually represents a huge part of animation history — the 1914 cartoon she comes from paved the way for more modern animators, like Walt Disney, so she’s quite the special dino, indeed!

1st Place: Hollywood Boulevard

Brown Derby Lounge

Well, friends — we finally made it to our number one land! And guess what — we’re on Hollywood Boulevard, back where we began! We know a lot has changed here at Hollywood Studios, but a lot has stayed the same, too! Like Brown Derby’s Famous Cobb Salad! This salad has truly stood the test of time!

Cobb Salad

Now normally you would need a dining reservation to eat at the connecting table-service Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant, but you DON’T need one to dine in the lounge! This is where you’ll find smaller portions of some of the same foods they serve on the menu inside the restaurant. We’ve been known to slide into the lounge for a Shrimp Cocktail, Cheese Board, or their tasty Filet Mignon Sliders as well!

Derby Sliders

You can also get their signature dessert, Grapefruit Cake, at the lounge! Or try one of their other offerings such as their Chocolate-Coconut Cake or Chocolate Mousse Cake!

Grapefruit Cake

Any way you slice it, the Brown Derby Lounge is one of our favorite stops to have a swig (yes, their signature cocktails are quite tasty too, but we digress!) and somewhat swankier snack!

Trolley Car Cafe

And now for the BIG FINALE! We can’t think of a more iconic treat than the Carrot Cake Cookie, which you’ll now find at Hollywood Studios’ Starbucks location (which is called the Trolley Car Cafe!).

Carrot Cake Cookie

The CCC (as we lovingly refer to it) hasn’t always stayed the same. Shortly after leaving Writer’s Stop (which was replaced by BaseLine Tap House) the cookies started looking kinda deflated. In fact, our perfect treat would be to somehow combine the Backlot Express’ Wookiee Cookie with the CCC and create some kind of magical cookie hybrid. Dare to dream PEOPLE…dare…to…DREAM!

Wookie Cookie and Carrot Cake Cookie at Hollywood Studios

Even still, this epic cookie holds a place in our hearts. It’s soft, loaded with cream cheese frosting, and SO GOOD.

Read more about our ultimate Hollywood Studios’ cookie throwdown here!

This Starbucks location also has a killer Ham and Cheese Croissant that’s only available until they sell out each day!

Ham and Cheese croissant

And in addition to all the Starbucks frappucinos, cold brews, and other specialty coffee and tea drinks you can’t function without, you’ll occasionally run into the Butterfinger Cupcake! This big fella is like a candy bar and a cupcake had a delicious baby!

Butterfinger Cupcake

We’ve been singing the praises of this cupcake for YEARS. Much like the Carrot Cake Cookie, we’ve seen it evolve a bit over the years but we still adore it just the same. Note that now they call it the crunchy toffee peanut butter something or other…but it’ll always be the Butterfinger Cupcake to us!

Read our review of the Butterfinger Cupcake here!

And when Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway debuted, we were introduced to Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie! What a sweet way to celebrate!

Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie

Seriously, this little pie is so much more than it appears. In a world of over the top cupcakes and verrines, this sweet and simple treat shocked us with how good it was. Plus, it’s just about the cutest itty bitty pie we’ve ever seen!

Read our review of Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie HERE!

Wow! We DID IT! We finally ranked the lands by their snacks at Hollywood Studios — a nearly impossible endeavor! Now we’re thinking about other feats of greatness — like EATING all of these treats in ONE day! On second thought, maybe we’ll leave that challenge up to you and your stretchy pants. Ours are already tight enough as it is! 😉
