NEWS! Fireworks Return to Shanghai Disneyland on a Trial Basis

Shanghai Disneyland reopened to guests on May 11, 2020. Of course, as has been the case with other Disney Parks around the globe — including Walt Disney World Resort — experiences around the park have been modified or suspended during the initial reopening phase in light of new health and safety measures.

This has included the temporary suspension of nighttime fireworks spectaculars. However, an update on the Shanghai Disney Resort website shares that fireworks are returning to Shanghai Disneyland! There is, however, a bit more to the story…

Ignite the Dream — A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light is listed with showtimes running through August 2nd.

There is, though, a notice that you can see underneath the banner: “Ignite the Dream – A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light is currently in trial operations. During this period we may make operational adjustments, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”

So, it appears that Shanghai Disneyland will take this week to monitor the situation and perhaps make adjustments as needed before potentially adding any further dates to the calendar. (You may even recall when the fireworks were seen in testing.)

In any case, it looks like guests will be able to enjoy fireworks in the sky above Enchanted Storybook Castle once again… at least for a limited time! We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
