Channing Dungey to Take Over ABC Entertainment Group Replacing Paul Lee
According to stories from Variety and THR, Channing Dungey, Executive VP of Drama at ABC, has been named Entertainment President of ABC, replacing Paul Lee, who was ousted in a power struggle with Ben Sherwood, President of Disney/ABC Television. She’s the first African-American person to head programming at a major broadcast network. Dungey will now report directly to Sherwood.
Disney Sells its Stake in Fusion to Univision
Disney/ABC, which owns a stake in the Fusion Network, has agreed to sell its part to Univision, the companies announced Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Disney to Shut Down Infinity Video Games
Disney announced the decision Tuesday to close it’s Infinity game division in a footnote to its second-quarter earnings, saying it incurred a $147 million charge for severance costs and to write off its investment in the business. The company will close its Salt Lake City game studio and cut about 300 jobs.

According to a story in the Orlando Sentinel, a U.S. District Judge has ruled in 45 cases that Disney made sufficient accommodations for people with autism. The plaintiff had the same opportunities to experience Walt Disney World as other visitors, she ruled in summary judgments, without a trial.
Jamila Hunter Promoted to Senior Vice President, ABC Comedy
Respected comedy executive Jamila Hunter has been named senior vice president, ABC Comedy. It was announced today by Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, to whom she will report. In her new position, Hunter will manage ABC’s Comedy Department, overseeing the development and production of all comedy pilots for ABC Entertainment.
Disney Boosts Stock Dividend by 10 Percent
Walt Disney, buoyed by record financial results, boosted its semi-annual dividend by 10%, saying it will pay stockholders 78 cents for each share they own on Dec. 12, up from 71 cents previously.
