This EPCOT Flower & Garden Dish May Be Shareable, But We’re Keeping it All to Ourselves!

There is so much to EAT, SEE, and DO at the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!

It’s Flower & Garden Festival time once again!

We’ve been making our way around the food booths and now we’re heading to a returning spot — La Isla Fresca! This year, La Isla Fresca is serving up LOTS of items from last year as well as something new.

Menu

This year, the menu at La Isla Fresca includes all three of the same food items it offered in 2020.

La Isla Fresca

So if you were a fan of the 2020 booth (or if you missed the opportunity to visit due to the closures), you have another shot at it this year!

La Isla Fresca

Alright, less talking, more EATING! Let’s see what La Isla Fresca had in store for us this time around!

Food

First, there’s the Lamb Curry with Sweet Plantains and Rice. It might not be the most Insta-worthy dish, but when we had it last year, we truly thought this curry was a home run!

The lamb was tender and each part of the dish was PACKED with flavor. Truly, each bite was delicious, and we felt it was a mild enough curry for a variety of palettes to enjoy. The spiciness built over time, but it was nicely balanced by the sweetness of the plantains. You can try this dish for $6.25.

This year, we also got the return of a Flower & Garden Festival FAVORITE — the Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer!

This item is served with Steamed Rice and Coconut Lime Sauce for $7.00.

We LOVED the sauce in this dish, and the shrimp was cooked fabulously! Not only that, but the rice wasn’t overcooked either, which happens often at these festivals! This was a great shareable dish as well (although personally, we’re inclined to keep it all to ourselves). Overall, this was simply divine!

And finally, rounding off the food menu is the Tropical Mousse Cup. This treat is made of Layers of Passion Fruit Cake, Coconut Mousse, and a Tropical Fruit Glaze with Fresh Pineapple.

Tropical Mousse

When we’ve had this in the past, we’ve really felt like the dessert represented the tropical flavors well. The pineapple was fresh, and the mousse and cake were light and fluffy. It’s not an over-the-top sweet dessert. So, it could be good for those looking for dessert who don’t have a GIANT sweet tooth. This item is priced at $4.50.

Drinks

In terms of the beverages, there are some returning items, like the Tropical Freeze (non-alcoholic) for $4.50 and the Tropical Freeze with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum for $10.

But, new to the menu this year is the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. Hibiscus Guavacation Sour Beer, Orlando, FL. You can get a 6 oz serving for $4.50 and a 12 oz serving for $8.50.

This was definitely a sour beer, but not quite as sour as others we’ve tried in the past! This one was nice and fruity and would actually be a perfect starter sour for anyone who may be on the fence.

Overall

Overall, La Isla Fresca is mainly serving up returning items — but we’re not mad about that at all! Hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it?

If you’re looking for fresh, tropical flavors — this is the spot to try. Consider checking it out during your next trip to EPCOT. You have until July 5th to try this booth along with all the others at this year’s Flower & Garden Festival!
